Voici un article pour installer le bureau MATE sur Calculate Linux.

A noter, maintenant il existe Calculate Linux Desktop MATE (CLDM) disponible au téléchargement.





Configuration du système





On peut se permettre de régler le profil sur CLDM, ainsi, on aura à disponibilité des paquets binaires et des USE FLAG correctement réglés.



Lister d'abord les profils ainsi :

Code BASH :
eselect profile list




Et sélectionner ensuite distros:CLSM/amd64 (64bits) ou distros:CLSM/x86 (32bits) avec

Code BASH :
eselect profile set n


où n correspond au numéro de profil.

Installer l'environnement de bureau





Rien de plus simple, nous avons à notre disposition un méta-paquetage nommé mate, nous allons donc nous en servir :



On lance l'installation

On vérifie qu'il n'y a aucun problème quant à l'installation, puis on installe en choisissant Yes.





Installer le gestionnaire de connexion





Bien, on a notre bureau, maintenant, il reste juste à installer le gestionnaire de connexion.



Pour cela, on va utiliser lightdm :

emerge -avq lightdm  lightdm-gtk-greeter




On peut aussi installer les thèmes Calculate Linux



Code BASH :
emerge -avq  lightdm-themes-calculate calculate-wallpapers calculate-icon-theme




Vérifier que le fichier /etc/conf.d/xdm contient cette ligne :



Code BASH :
DISPLAYMANAGER="lightdm"




On ajoute le service xdm au démarrage :

rc-update add xdm default






Configuration post-installation





MATE fonctionne avec le gestionnaire réseau NetworkManager, or, CLS utilise OpenRC.

On va donc désactiver OpenRC et activer NetworkManager.



On supprime donc le script de lancement de l'interface Ethernet d'OpenRC



Code BASH :
rm /etc/init.d/net.e*




Le nom peut différer suivant le nom de l'interface réseau.

Ne pas supprimer net.lo



On configure ensuite NetworkManager comme gestionnaire réseau avec les outils Calculate :

cl-setup-network --netconf networkmanager




On vérifie avec :



Code BASH :
cl-setup-network --netconf list




Le gestionnaire de réseau actif est indiqué par une étoile, vérifier que c'est bien NetworkManager

  [networkmanager]  NetworkManager *
  [openrc]          OpenRC
 




Et on n'oublie pas d'activer NetworkManager au démarrage :

rc-update add NetworkManager default




Une fois terminé, on lance le gestionnaire de connexion :

/etc/init.d/xdm start




Et voilà, on a une Calculate Linux MATE opérationnelle :magic:
